I have followed some so-called social media experts for a period of time, hopeful that they would lead me towards more social media proficiency; however, I become disappointed when I watch their social media presences closely and see that they, in fact, do not walk the walk. How can you go around social media, preaching that you care and that you engage with all your followers, when the only people you talk with are your ‘friends’?
About a month or so ago, I came across another frustrated professional in the social media space name Jason “Jay” Vigilione on Twitter, and together, we realized that we have a lot in common when it comes to our frustrations in the social media marketing space. Too many talking heads, we said!
Hence why we decided to launch our podcast, Spotlight: Social Marketing Gone Bad.
As co-hosts, we banter back and forth about current and relevant social media topics, such as other marketers fussing over terminology (instead of focusing on what’s important!) and the hype over certain new platforms.
